WEICON Contact VA 250 Black Cyanoacrylate Adhesive For special requirements, high viscosity, slow curing, rubber filled, high temperature resistant PREPARATION: Clean and dry bonding surfaces are a prerequisite for perfect bonding. Smooth surfaces should be roughened mechanically. WEICON CA-Primer can be applied to the adhesive surface to improve adhesion of plastics and silicones that are difficult to bond. PROCESSING: The adhesive is only applied to one of the surfaces to be bonded. The layer thickness of the adhesive application should be between min. 0.05 mm and max. 0.2 mm, otherwise curing is not guaranteed. For large-area bondings, the adhesive should be applied pointwise to avoid internal stresses. The adhesive is very economical. One drop is sufficient for approx. 3 to 5 cm² of adhesive surface. The parts to be bonded should be bonded at a relative humidity of 40% to 80%. Below 40% the hardening is very strongly slowed down or prevented. At a humidity above 80% or strongly alkaline substrates (e.g. glass) there is a risk of shock hardening. In these cases, certain materials show a drop in strength of 10% to 15% due to stresses in the adhesive layer. - Basic-reactive surfaces (pH value greater than 7) accelerate the curing process, acid-reactive surfaces (pH value less than 7) delay it and can completely prevent polymerization in extreme cases. TECHNICAL DATA: Ester type: Ethyl Initial adhesion to aluminium: 90 -120 sec. Initial adhesion to NBR rubber: 20 -40 sec. Initial adhesion to hard PVC: 40 -80 sec. Final strength after: 24 hours Temperature resistance: -55 to +140 Softening temperature +160 °C
